The Storybook Project

The Storybook Project is the working title of a documentary film in progress. Primarily being shot at the Ontario County Jail in Canandaigua, NY, it chronicles the involvement of volunteers and inmates in a program which encourages inmates to nurture connections with their young children by reading books and sending greetings via tape recorder.  In an approximation of the bedtime story experience, each child receives a tape and new copy of the book.   Julie is the still photographer for the production.  For more information, please visit http://lowtotheground.com/films/storybook
